We call it the Lone Pine Trail, one of our trails that we rode, we’d see that pine tree in the distance. I’m not sure I’d even moved down here yet, Rhonda, Bob and I used to ride this trail and it comes up around Bilyeu’s, across the holler [hollow].
My mom gave me a hillbilly dictionary a long time ago. It had a lot of stuff my dad and I said. I think she was trying to impress on us, this was the way we sound! No one was allowed to say “ain’t” though. But we could say “holler” or “over yonder.” I don’t use that term much, but my dad did. Mom and I both made fun of this, my dad was mad about saying this – “yeah I’m gonna throw the cow over some hay” – it sounded like he was gonna throw the cow somewhere! We always said “bobwire” instead of “barbed wire.”
