The was on the old Roy Burt farm. There was an old army fellow that used to give riding lessons there. Not at that house of course, but on that farm. Carrie Silvius, used to be a friend of my son Jim’s, and saw this painting. She used to take riding lessons over there so had to have this painting. So that’s where that went.
Verna gave riding lessons there. She liked jumping with the horses. I didn’t care anything about jumping. I just wanted to learn to post on the right diagonal. She loved jumping so we went out in the pasture and had one of their horses. And she said, “Lookey there, there’s a hay wagon, just go over that!” She was forceable! I was scared to death. That horse cleared that hay wagon. That’s the last jump I ever did, I think.
